What services does your business offer? Regular pool servicing including cleaning pool/equipment and testing and balancing water, new equipment sales and repairs, chemical supplies.

What was your company’s first job? I took over my dad’s regular customers when he retired, and have been building the business ever since.
How did you make your first dollar? I used to catch the train into Albion and wash cars when I was 15.
How did you get into your current line of work? My family has been in the pool industry for over 25 years so I have learnt the trade from my dad and brother.
Why is a business like yours so important? It is very important to have clean, healthy water in your pool to avoid bacteria and algae forming. This is achieved by regular testing of the water and then adding the correct dosage of chemicals. We offer a fortnightly or monthly maintenance service to our customers to ensure their pools are in pristine condition.
What sort of clients does your business provide services to? We have regular customers who we service fortnightly or monthly and we also have customers who contact us if they are experiencing problems.
Before your current job, what were your previous occupations? I am also a qualified carpenter, therefore in the winter months when the pool industry is quiet I do small carpentry jobs.
What do your customers most appreciate about your services? As I live and work locally I provide a prompt and reliable service to my clients. I also offer service with a smile!
What is the best part of your job? I love being my own boss and working in my local community.
What advice would you give to anyone considering working in your line of work? Be prepared to be run off your feet in summer.
If you didn’t work in your current job, what job would you like to do? Run an adventure motorcycle tour company.
How do you spend your spare time? Dirt bike riding and spending time with my wife and three young girls.
