A passion for people and property has seen Ocean View resident James Florance take top honours ahead of Mortgage Choice mortgage brokers from across the state.

Mr Florance blitzed his rivals to achieve a Queensland Business Excellence Award at the company’s national conference, held in Melbourne from 14-16 January.

Offering personalised service and visiting his customers where and when it suits them, Mr Florance said his motivation led to a record year and his first Mortgage Choice Business Excellence Award.

Mr Florance, who has worked in the finance industry for 14 years, attributed his success to the support of his fellow Mortgage Choice franchisees.

“This award is testament that hard work and motivation do pay off,” he said.

“As a franchise owner, when you have the support of the franchise network and the passion to succeed, achieving your dream of building a successful business becomes a reality.”

“I couldn’t have done this alone. Without the support of my local community I wouldn’t have achieved nearly as much.

“Their encouragement and enthusiasm has driven me to maintain the high level of service my customers deserve.”

Mortgage Choice CEO Michael Russell said Mr Florance has gained high respect among the organisation’s nationwide network.

“He deserves to be rewarded for determinedly following his dreams and being dedicated to the continuous improvement of his skills, the business’s operational efficiency and his strong commitment to customers,” Mr Russell said.

“James’ results thus far have been outstanding and we know his great customer service ethos will see him continue to succeed and achieve his business goals.”

Mr Florance said his aim for 2010 was to strengthen confidence in the local property market and provide a “one-stop-finance-shop” offering home, investment, commercial and personal loans, leasing and asset finance, and insurance services.

“I want to assure the local community that successful wealth creation is viable; it’s just a matter of finding the right loan suited to your circumstances,” Mr Florance said.
