When it comes to knowing the ins and outs of Dayboro, it’s hard to beat the team from Craig Doyle Real Estate.
Sales consultant Luke Mellers said Craig Doyle Real Estate’s staff, including fellow sales experts Katrina Doyle, Shelley Lovelock and Sharon James, were driven “not so much by a love for real estate, but a love for Dayboro”.
“Local staff with local knowledge is a big thing for us, and it’s just a fact that we were all brought up here or close by or live in the area,” said Mr Mellers, who grew up at nearby Kobble Creek.
“None of us really come from a real estate background, we come from a Dayboro background, and I think that’s one of the big differences between us and other real estate agents. It’s a sense of pride towards Dayboro.”
Mr Mellers said extensive renovations to the Craig Doyle Real Estate office last year included a state-of-the-art interactive touch screen facility to view property listings, a service unique to the area.
“It means basically there’s somebody here 24 hours and if somebody wants information they can touch the screen and tap straight into it, look at photos, send us an email,” he said.
Mr Mellers said the business, established in 1994, had been at the forefront of Dayboro’s population boom in the past decade, a trend that is predicted to continue.
He said housing development in the area was likely to plateau within five years, which means Dayboro will become an increasingly sought-after destination.
“One good thing about working for Craig (Doyle) is most of the developments that are going on we’ve got a grasp on, they’re either his or someone that we know,” said Mr Mellers, whose work sees him cover an area stretching from Delaney’s Creek to Samsonvale,
“People pay for privacy and they pay for a way of life, and that’s what you can get out here.
“You can get right involved with the community – there’s such a great bunch of people in town – or you can stay on your own property and do nothing.”
Mr Mellers said Craig Doyle Real Estate’s dedication to the Dayboro community was highlighted by the fact the business sponsors no fewer than 20 local sporting and community organisations.
“In all honesty if you’ve been brought up here and spent your childhood in Dayboro, there’s no chance in China that you wouldn’t have played for a team that Craig hadn’t sponsored at one stage or another,” Mr Mellers said.
“He’s always happy to put his hand in his pocket and give to someone, and you’re happy to work for someone like that.”
