Anyone wanting to send some bowls down the green, without having to spending their own green, should head to Samford Bowls Club this Saturday.

The club will host a free open day where they will showcase one of the world’s most patronised sports.

“There will be experienced club members available to give a demonstration and brief lessons to assist potential bowlers in the fun game of lawn bowls,” Samford Bowls Club’s Chris Campbell said.

Mr Campbell said the club had bowled over visitors to the recent Samford Show.

“Our display was inundated with people of all ages wanting to have a go on our portable bowling rink,” he said.

“Those who rolled a bowl at the show will find it is completely different and much more fun when you get onto our greens.”

The open day, which will also feature a free sausage sizzle, is on at Samford Bowls Club, Mt Samson Road, Samford on 31 July from 9am to 12pm.

For more information phone Chris Campbell on 0402 681 668.
