Emmie Forrester and Rebecca Stringfellow were entrants in the Woodford Show Princess quest, which returns in 2012.
A young woman from the Mt Mee and Woodford region could travel around their state and country as the Queensland Country Life Miss Showgirl.
The Woodford Show Queen Quest was resurrected in 2011, and this year’s winner will represent the Woodford Show at the Miss Showgirl regional finals – and possibly even at the state finals in Brisbane.
Mt Mee’s Emmie Forrester won the Contestant’s Choice sash last year.
“It was definitely an experience and a lot of fun,” she said.
“All the girls last year had a good time and really enjoyed themselves.”
The 18-year-old said the chance to attend grooming, etiquette, deportment and dance classes, as well as the rare chance to ‘glam up’, was an opportunity she was glad she didn’t pass up.
“That was one of the main reasons why I entered, because we’ve never really had the opportunity to dress up living where we do, so that was something I was definitely most excited about,” Emmie said.
The Woodford Show Queen (18 to 28 years) and Princess (13 to 17 years) competitions are open to women from Mt Mee, Wamuran, Woodford, D’Aguilar, Delaney’s Creek, Bellthorpe, Neurum, Villenueve, Stanmore, Stoney Creek and surrounding areas.
Nominations close 28 February. For more details phone Michelle Hewitt on 5496 4940 or Leigh Amos on 5496 1680.
