Name: Alex Harper

Business: Home I.T. Services

Established: 2011

Based at: Samford Valley

What services does your business offer?  Whether it be a small issue like saving a word document, to establishing a new office with many PCs, or setting up advanced networks, removing viruses, building websites and support with finding printer solutions, our Home I.T. Services technicians are trained and ready to help you in your own home or business.

What areas do your clients come from?  We have clients on the north side of Brisbane, as well as business clients on Edward Street, and international aircraft manufacturers in Bundaberg.

What was your company’s first job?  A family in Samford Valley whose desktop computer, running Windows XP, crashed and needed a hard disk drive replacement.

How did you get into your current line of work?  I built my first PC out of bits collected from mates and from there my passion for the challenge that I.T. and computer repair presented grew stronger.

Why is a business like yours so important?  Computers are a part of our daily lives and will only continue to have a stronger presence in the future. For this reason it is extremely important that they are fast, reliable, efficient, and secure. Home I.T. Services offers this to all our clients plus much more, at rates that are up to five times cheaper than some of the other larger I.T. companies in Brisbane.

What sort of clients does your business provide services to?  Our website services are available to anyone in Australia, and our onsite services are available to any home or business on the north side of Brisbane.

What do your customers most appreciate about your services?  Our clients enjoy the friendly, reliable and guaranteed service at the affordable rates we offer in their own homes or businesses.

What is the best part of your job?  Knowing that we have given our clients the best service that we can possibly offer and to see their delight when their problems are solved and their pockets not emptied by exorbitant rates.

What advice would you give to anyone considering working in your line of work?  Know what you’re doing, be good at problem solving, keep up to date with latest technologies, be able to communicate what you are doing and why, be respectful of all client levels of I.T. ability, and most importantly enjoy making a difference to others.
