Lorelle Crawford, who won the Young Model Discovery contest last year, is one of the aspiring models who has benefited from courses run by Lew and Pam Tamblyn from Samford.
They have helped launch the careers of two recent Miss Universe Australia winners, and now the
renowned Tamblyn School of Finishing and Modelling has a new premises at Samford.
Highvale residents Pam and Lew Tamblyn, who have lived at Samford for 13 years, opened their modelling school in 1986.
Since then graduates of the Tamblyn model school at Spring Hill have carved out careers both in Australia and overseas.
Rachael Finch and Jesinta Campbell both won the Tamblyn Young Model Discovery quest, then went on to claim the crown of Miss Universe Australia at the national beauty pageant.
They then represented their country in the International Miss Universe Pageant in the Bahamas and Las Vegas.
Next month Pam Tamblyn and her daughter Sallie will take Lorelle Crawford, last year’s Tamblyn Young Model Discovery winner, to New York and Europe to visit various modelling agencies.
The Tamblyns hope the next winner could come from their new fully air-conditioned school, complete with a model runway with lights, located at Samford.
It also features a skincare and makeup room with state-of-the-art makeup chairs and mirrors, with training makeup from Stefan’s new makeup-skincare range.
The model school runs grooming, deportment, makeup and modelling classes for juniors and teenagers.
“All students will have the opportunity to be represented by Tamblyn Models to clients that we deal with constantly through our booking room… in TV commercials, print, papers and advertising,” Pam said.
Tamblyn School of Finishing and Modelling will present two fashion parades at the Samford Markets, at St Paul’s Anglican Church at 12 Mt Samson Road, Samford on 14 April at 9.30am and 11am.
Young hopefuls and their parents will be able to speak with Pam, and visitors to the Tamblyn stand will receive a $50 discount off full price Tamblyn modelling courses.
To make an appointment to visit the new Tamblyn School of Finishing and Modelling at Samford phone Lew on 0416 225 201 or Pam on 0411 857 722.
